Old Weymouth Meetinghouse
Weymouth, Hamilton Township, Atlantic County

One of the oldest Methodist churches in the state, this wonderfully-preserved
building was erected in 1807. It retains the traditional two entrances
associated with many early churches in the state, but the only decorative
element is the small fan high in the gable. I don't know if the rudimentary
belfry is original.
There are several old wooden grave markers in the
burial ground, as well as quite a few hammered iron markers, a reminder of the
many furnaces in this area.
