John Wesley Methodist Episcopal Church
Swainton, Cape May County

The congregation was organized in 1840 and this frame church may have been erected as early as 1878—the evidence is ambiguous for that. It was moved from Goshen in 1906 to this location outside of town. It is a fairly standard plan, appropriate for a congregation of limited financial resources, as most of the early Methodist churches were.
