Sharpton Methodist Episcopal Church
Sharpton, Pilesgrove Township, Salem County

This Methodist church is a daughter church of the Old Pilesgrove methodist
congregation, which had been organized about 1795. A decision was made
in 1831 to build a new church in Sharpton, and two years later this
brick meetinghouse was erected. In the cemetery lies a small stone with
an inscription "to the memory of my only daughter."
