First Presbyterian Church
Rockaway, Morris County
This is an exceptionally fine brick church, listed on the National Register,
that was built in 1832. In its basic outline, it is a scaled-down version
of the Presbyterian church in Newark, but with a Gothic spire atop the
tower and a neo-classical window directly over the center door. The
congregation was organized in 1758. The grounds include a huge cemetery
to the rear.
