Broadway
Baptist
Church
Paterson, Passaic County

The cupola atop the tower of this fine brick georgian church is prominent,
even from several blocks away. It was built in 1879 in a style that had
long gone out of date--Georgian—but perhaps was favored by a congregation
that wanted to emphasize traditional "American" architecture instead
of the increasingly popular Gothic and Romanesque. It remains a Baptist
congregation by now is named after the refounding minister, I believe.
