Bethel
AME Church
near Othello, Cumberland County
Just off Route 620 leading to Greenwich lies this fine small stucco church—the
Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. It was organized in 1816 and this
building was erected in 1841. It is one of the earliest AME churches in the
state, and very well maintained.
