In 1845, the stone set above the windows in the tower says, this fine
wooden frame church
was erected; it was rebuilt, perhaps completely, in 1865. That date
is more consistent with the design of the entrance, the elongated (lancet)
Gothic arch windows, and the brackets on the tower.
