Second German Presbyterian Church
Newark, Essex County

This substantial red brick building was erected in 1866 by the congregation
which had been organized six years earlier. It is located on Sussex
Avenue and is home to a very large (8,000 people I was told) congregation
known as the New Hope Baptist Church. There was a substantial addition
in the 1980s, but the facade appears substantially unaltered since 1866.
