Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart
Newark, Essex County

The Cathedral was started in 1899 and completed in 1954, which is actually a short time for a Gothic church of this size. It is one of the largest Gothic churches in the country. The original architect was Jeremiah O'Rourke.
