First Methodist Episcopal Church
New Brunswick, Middlesex County

An unconventional but very satisfactory design by architect Augustus
Hatfield and a local architect, Stephen Dettart, who served as the builder
of this Methodist church. Erected in 1869, it sits on George Street,
a couple of blocks away from what was the center of town when it was
built.
