Christ Church
Middletown, Monmouth County

This simple frame church, with its early Gothic windows and quatrefoil
over the door is an outstanding example of how the early Episcopal churches
were within the American idiom until the Ecclesiology Movement a few
years after this building was erected in 1836, at a cost of $1,100.
The interior appears to have been little changed since then, and there
is a great eagle pulpit as well.
