St.
Mary's Church of the Assumption
Hackettstown, Warren County

One
would be hard put to identify this nondescript building as a former catholic
church, but that is what it was. It was erected in 1864 by a parish
organized ten years earlier. It served the parish until 1923
when
a much larger and more stylish building was erected on High Street. The
building was sold to the Knights of Columbus, and every vestige of its
former
use has been eradicated.
