Frenchtown Presbyterian church
Frenchtown, Hunterdon County

founded 1844; built 1854

This frame building on Fourth Street replaced the original Frenchtown Presbyterian church on Second Street in 1854, which now serves as the town hall and library. Fourth Street was known locally as “Presbyterian Street,” Third Street was “Methodist Street,” and Second, “Baptist Street,” after the location of three of the town’s four churches. The Greek Revival building was enlarged in 1871.
