Bethel Society of Hanover
East Hanover Township, Morris County

Organized
as the Bethel Society of Hanover in 1893, this building was originally
a small chapel erected in 1897. Sometime later the chapel
was extended
and the tower and belfry were added. The lattice-work is unusual,
but rather
interesting,
as is the shape of the tower and
belfry. Clearly a vernacular building, but by a builder with a fine sense
of style.
The congregation is now known as the Kitchell
Memorial
Presbyterian Church.
