First Methodist Episcopal Church
Dover, Morris County
The first Methodist church in Dover was built in 1838 and this building
on Blackwell Street replaced it in 1872. The rusticated stone and round
arches are chacteristic of the Romanesque revival style, which was very
popular in the period following the Civil War.
