First Congregational Church
Chester, Morris County

This fine Greek Revival building erected in 1851, is almost identical
to the Methodist church in Cokesbury and closely similar to churches
in Griggstown, Colts Neck, Harlingen, Raritan and South Bound Brook,
all erected within a year or two of 1851. There is an additional structure
attached, of somewhat later date, which preserves the integrity of this
building better than most congregations in need of additional space.
