First Presbyterian Church Of Asbury
Asbury, Warren County

The two major history sources (Snell and Honeyman) are divided on
the founding date for this church; Snell says 1739 and Honeyman says
1860. I am inclined to go with the later date, as there is no record
of Asbury on any early map. In any case, there is agreement that this
building was erected in 1869. It is built of red brick, somewhat unusual
for the region, in the Romanesque style. It now serves as a residence.
